Lectures

I have the honor of curating, together with Begoña Camblor Pandiella, Professor of Language and Literature Education, the activities for En el fondo del tiempo: Centenary of Aurora de Albornoz (1926–2026). The University of Oviedo, of which we are both members, along with the Government of Asturias, the Valdés Town Council, and the National Library of Spain, support an initiative that throughout 2026 will pay tribute to the writer and scholar from Luarca.

The poster is the work of the Asturian designer Sra. Milton and draws on an iconic image of Albornoz, bringing into play key elements that renew her legacy: a voice of Republican exile, a central figure for understanding 20th-century poetry, a link to the finest culture of the Second Republic, two homelands, and the word as a tool in building democracy through culture.

A crucial year begins for bringing the life of an exceptional woman closer to Asturian and Spanish society. We are excited by the challenge and also grateful to her family, who warmly support this celebration, which consists of a series of lectures, publications, and activities in Asturian educational centers. All information about the events can be followed through a dedicated Instagram account for the centenary.
