May Sarton in Gijón

Next Wednesday, October 1st, I will have the pleasure of talking with the editors of Bamba Editorial, Raquel Bada and Lucía Navarro, about May Sarton’s novel As We Are Now, published in 2024 by this Valencian press, which has set out to recover the work of women writers who have been ignored, forgotten, or little recognized by contemporary readers. Translated by Blanca Gago, As We Are Now was originally published in 1973 and is the first of Sarton’s narrative works to be translated into Spanish. The event will take place at Toma 3, at 8:00 p.m., thanks to Aida and David from La Vespertina, a wonderful project that was born in the municipality of Gijón a few months ago.
